Love Is was Alannah's first video directed by Deborah Samuel and the first of two simultaneous singles released on Atlantic Records, WMC April 1989 in Canada which helped to create her phenomenal rise to success, selling a quarter of a million records in it's third month at English radio in Canada then another quarter of a million from French radio in Quebec who instead chose Black Velvet as their first single. Supported by relentless touring & international promo helped make Alannah the only debut artist to have sold diamond (over one million) in Canada and many millions worldwide. Ya can't please everybody. Eligible as of 2014 nomination. 3rd Bass, After 7, Alan Jackson, Alannah Myles, Ani DiFranco, Athiest, Babes in Toyland, Barenaked Ladies, Beautiful South, Better Than Ezra, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Bob Mould, Buffalo Tom, Cathy Dennis, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Christopher Williams, Clive Griffin, Dangerous Toys, DJ Magic Mike, Doro, Dream Theater, Enuff Z'nuff, Evildead, Extreme, Gang Starr, Garth Brooks, Gin Blossoms, Green Day, Jane Child, Jawbreaker, Jesus Jones, Lenny Kravitz, Lush, Manic Street Preachers, Maria McKee, Masta Ace, Michael Penn, Mother Love Bone, Mr. Big, Neneh Cherry, Nine Inch Nails, No Use for a Name, Obituary, The Ocean Blue, The Orb, Ottmar Liebert, Pavement, Phantom Blue, Porcupine Tree, Queen Latifah, Sarah McLachlan, Saraya, Sebadoh, Selena, Shakespear's Sister, Sick of It All, Skid Row, Slint, The Sundays, Superchunk, Technotronic, Texas, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Tom Petty, Unsane, Urge Overkill, Warrant, XYZ, Young MC. The Paul Butterfield blues band gets my vote. Although not a household name, they were a black and white blues outfit out of Chicago in the 60's. Mike Bloomfield, was their hotshot guitarist along with Elvin Bishop.

They brought blues into the U.S. Consciousness in the 60's. They also backed Dylan when he went electric at the Newport folk festival in 1965. If you like electric blues and harmonica playing, check out their self titled debut (1965) and East West (1966). Highly recommended!

I started reading down the lists of people who were eligible prior to this year and I only made it through 2013 (for 2014). Parliament is a band that played an essential role in the funkadelic genre and whether you like the band or not, the artist's influence on music in general is part of the decision process.

Not saying they should be inducted, just thought of that element upon seeing their name. I like certain bands and artists on the lists but realize that they don't approach RARHOF status But Jeff Healy (The Jeff Healy Band is the accurate listing, as people wrote in the comments section), will always be a band that stands above others that I like for many reasons. Sadly, if they were inducted, they would be missing their talented front man on acceptance, but I would absolutely vote for their induction. Mother Love Bone is eligible so I assume that Temple of the Dog and Pearl Jam will both be eligible in the same year?

Not sure why Iron Maiden isn't in yet. Mother Love Bone has no business being in there, not by a long shot. Bon Jovi should be in there.

Not my cup of tea, but they should. There are a pocket full of homegrown punk/hardcore bands that should be in there too like The Bad Brains, The Misfits, Minor Threat and The Dead Kennedys. These 4 bands started movements, music and spawned hundreds of other bands. If the Sex Pistols got in then these guys should have some consideration. Motorhead too?
