I'm writing my own equity analysis reports and trying to build a financial model and i'm assuming Bloomberg terminal can help me at least get some ideas on how to make my work quicker and better. Don't know what else to say except that I love it lol. Any tips or hints. Everyone mostly knows =BDP for excel but alot of fields are saved Historically. =BDH( will let you pull historical data ranges.
FLDS descriptions will tell you what type of data is available. Just be aware BBG has data caps on terminals. If you try to pull some astronomical set of numbers, like 30K + the provider of that terminals gonna get a phone call as they are gonna want you to get an upgraded data license and pull it via FTP.

SWPM is the command for the swap module if your interested in learning about those. CDSW for CDS though thats a separate template. Make use of the consensus data. One thing I like to do is overlay the BEst (Bloomberg Estimates) EPS over the stock price and go back like 10 years(G GO for graphs) Then I look for dips in the BEst EPS and try to read news around that time(If you click news and then click somewhere on the chart you can look at news that happened during that time). I do this because if there's a dip in what the analysts estimates then most of the time it means that something must've happen which made them lower estimates. It's a good way to see some important news.
RV GO lets you compare the stock to its peers. Via any metric. Bloomberg Intelligence by far one of my fav tools. You can get industry reports, company reports, industry specific stats and more. If you type TICKER EQUITY BICO GO you'll see the stocks company and industry reports.
