After such miracles, people started worshipping Lord Krishna for his special powers. According to legends, Krishna is considered as the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu and worshipped by people all over South India.

Another well–known episode with high ratings portrayed how Lord Krishna once killed a huge black serpent called Sheshnaag. Once a gigantic and powerful snake, with hundred heads, came to live in river Yamuna and frightened the people. The serpent also poisoned the water of the river.

One day, while playing Lord Krishna taught a lesson to Sheshnaag by jumping into the river. All the people from the nearby places got frightened and gathered around the river as they thought the serpent might kill Krishna. Eventually, after a fierce fight between Krishna and serpent, Lord Krishna came out of the water and sat on Serpent’s head. Finally, Sheshnaag left the Yamuna after being defeated.
